That's the day Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple was inaugurated and opened in 1985. As per tradition, there will be a 24 hr Ramayan path the day before (April 9th) leading to Ram Navmi day. Also, please join us to do Ramayan Manka 108 lyrics starting on April 2nd - April 8th between 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The Board is humbly requesting devotees to sign up and participate in an hourly shift to read Ramayan starting April 9th.  SHA Vaccine Pop Up Clinic on April 10th 2022 at Temple between 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: SHA is planning a vaccine clinic at the Temple on April 10th 2022. Please take this opportunity to ask questions if you are new to Canada and please keep yourself and your family safe and vaccinated against Covid-19. Please bring your health card and an ID on that day! No booking is required as it's a walk-in vaccine clinic. AGM 2022: HSS AGM 2022 is on April 24th 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in person at the Temple. Mahaprasadam will be served prior to the start. Click here for AGM  Details  HSS 36th Annual Vegetarian Banquet on Saturday June 18th 2022 at 5:30 p.m.: Please mark your calendar on June 18th 2022 at 5:30 p.m. at Prairieland Park  for this HSS signature event. Tickets are $75 for adults, $65 for students and seniors and $45 for kids under 10 years old. Corporate sponsored table is $1,000 for 8 seats. We request all members to participate and let's make this event fondly memorable. More details to follow shortly! Sunday Temple Worship and Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mahaprasadam Project: Regular Sunday Temple Worship (10:30 AM to 12:30 PM).  Every Sunday, Maha Prasadam is sponsored by devotees for Bhog to Shri Lakshmi Narayan ji & then Mahaprasadam to all devotees present. Our sincere thanks go to Tanmay Povar and Dr. Prerna Agarwal for preparing and serving Mahaprasadam  on Sunday, March 27th, 2022. This coming Sunday on April 3rd, 2022,  Mahaprasadam is sponsored by devotee Aanya Dhakal. The HSS board has a special request to devotees to support and join us to sponsor blessed Mahaprasadam on Sundays for approximately 80 devotees, please contact us. Sponsors are welcome to use Temple kitchen free of charge on Sundays if that's a preference or you can cook at home or order from a restaurant but the latter might be very expensive. If your time is limited and you cannot prepare yourself, we are happy to inform you that Mahaprasadam sponsorship is $350 (80-100 people) and the board will bring volunteers and groceries to cook on your behalf and your sponsorship will be announced on the Sunday you selected.  We have a sign-up board by Geeta Bhawan main doors for 2022 Mahaprasadam on Sundays. Donation of Groceries:  If you would like to donate groceries to Temple to help with Mahaprasadam preparation, please donate from this list ( Paper Plates, Paper or Foam Take Away Boxes, Rice, Ghee, Cooking Oil, Sooji, Butter, Frozen mixed vegetables, Large cans of beans like chickpeas, kidney beans, white beans, Besan, Spices, Tea bags, Daal, Sugar, Salt) Yoga Classes are back  in-person:  Free Yoga classes are back in person at Temple on Saturdays from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. instructed by Dr Punam Pawah, Ms Neeru Kavia, and Shri Dinesh Yadav. Daily Temple Opening :  Temple is open for darshan/prayers/aarti/bhajans/kirtans as always to all devotees during weekdays from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. and Sunday 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Annual General Meeting

Date: Sunday, April 24th 2022 at 1:30 p.m.

Venue: Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple

Mandatory Registration for HSS Members in Attendance

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting (AGM)of the Hindu Society of Saskatchewan will be held in person on Sunday, April 24^th 2022, at 1.30 PM for the purpose of:

a) Receiving and considering the annual report and financial statements for the year ended on 31^st December 2021 and the report of the auditors thereon

b) Electing Board Members for 2022/23

c) Appointing auditor for the year 2022

d) Transacting such further and other business as may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment thereof.

HSS NOMINATION COMMITTEE 2022

According to Article X, section 1.0 of HSS by-laws, the HSS board 2021-2022 has appointed the following members to serve in the nomination committee for year 2022;

1. Mrs Anu Kashyap - Chair  (306-381 9350); Email: kashyap_anu@hotmail.com 

2. Dr. Suresh Kalagnanam (306-292 9251); Email: suvujaya@yahoo.ca

3. Mr. Pragnesh Patel (306-203 9887);  Email: pragnesh930@gmail.com 

An integral agenda item of the Annual General Meeting of the Hindu Society of Saskatchewan is the election of the Board of Directors. While the bylaw requires that vacant positions are made known to the membership, we are in an unprecedented year. The 2021 nomination committee was unable to fill the complete slate of directors and a motion was made at last year's AGM to authorize the board to fill the vacant positions which the Board did very successfully.

The Board successfully appointed 6 directors for the remaining vacant positions .  The 6 appointed directors by the Board are

1. Treasurer : one position

2. General Secretary: one position

3. Out reach Coordinator: one position

4. Facilities Coordinator: one position

5. Fund Raising Coordinator: one position

6. Member at Large: one position

As such at present, we are assuming these positions could be vacant . The current nomination committee is working to determine if these six appointed directors are willing to continue on the board. If you are interested in serving on the board of directors for any of the above positions, please reach out to the chair of the nomination committee, Anu Kashyap at Kashyap_anu@hotmail.com or at 306-381-9350.
