HSS business & Temple operations are conducted solely by volunteers' commitment, their hard work & efforts. Unlike many other major non-profits we neither have an allocated budget, nor we have identified paid positions to conduct the administration and work at the temple. We as a board understand HSS is not funded by grants, government aids  or systematic community funding. The only money that supports the operations of HSS is in the form of devotees donating to the temple operations so that a Hindu place of worship can be maintained. In hard times Hindu society patrons have always stepped ahead and supported temple operations by extending generous donations so that the temple can meet its need. The Board is thankful for all the kind support you all have been providing.

Given the need, it is essential to recognize the efforts of the volunteers and supporters who are making the temple a welcoming place.

The board acknowledges that you all are committed temple supporters. The board planned to and has sent invitation to recognize and celebrate your continued support during the year. By giving special consideration to all the good that devotees have been doing to the temple. At the event the advisory committee was represented by Dr. Gowda. Our many thanks to Dr. Gowda who took time from his busy schedule, attended the function and addressed the participants and the volunteers. Unfortunately few of you were missed at the event.

Our whole-hearted thanks to all who were able to grace their presence and support.

The participation is always voluntary, if you are unable to attend we understand that you are someone who could be busy or still staying away from large gatherings. We know your heart and support is always with Hindu Society sustainment and well being.

The annual general meeting is the key to ensuring healthy growth of Hindu society of Saskatchewan and our very own Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple of Saskatoon, SK Canada. The elected board serving the Hindu society is thankful for the kind support, constructive feedback, suggestions and encouragement to improve the experience at the temple. This is the time where you will experience and engage to help the society with the vision and direction it is heading. 

With the grace of Shri Lakshmi Narayan ji, throughout the year, we have received tremendous support from each of you and we look forward to build upon.

It is with the God's mercy that we have been able to realize so many goals during the unprecedented time of such a pandemic.

Rudrabishekam Every Monday and Pradosham

 

Rudrabhishekam

Rudrabhishek is an ancient chanting which was downloaded from the Aakasha (space). When the ancient sages and Rishis sat in meditation, they heard, and what they heard, they started transferring to other people.

The effect of Rudrabhishek is it creates positive energy and removes negative vibes. And a lot is said about the Rudrabhishek. When Rudrabishek happens nature flourishes, nature becomes joyful, happy.

When: 7.00 PM to 8.00 PM

1. Every Monday's followed by 20 minute Bhagwat Geetha talk
time: 7.00 PM to 8.00 PM

2. Pradosham (Monthly twice before full Moon day  and Amavasya day) Exact dates will be circulated by temple email.
time: 7.00 PM to 8.00 PM 

Pradosham is the time at which Lord Shiva took the ALAKALA VISHAM. If you do the Rudrabishekam during the time it will be very good and as well as auspicious. As per Purana, During this time if you tell Nadhi (Lord Shiva's Vehicle) in his ears it will reach Lord Shiva immediately.

1. Volunteer Appreciation day: Volunteers are back bone of our society and temple operations. This Saturday, April 16 2020 6:00 PM onwards let's celebrate what we enjoy serving the Lord. Follow the details. 

2. Hanuman Jayanti: Let's celebrate the birth of Bajrang Bali with daily recital of Hanuman Chalisa at 6:00 PM till Saturday Hanuman Jayanti

3. Hindu Society of Saskatchewan AGM 2022 - follow the details at temple website - information for your attention: An integral agenda item of the Annual General Meeting of the Hindu Society of Saskatchewan is the election of the Board of Directors. While the bylaw requires that vacant positions are made known to the membership, we are in an unprecedented year. The 2021 nomination committee was unable to fill the complete slate of directors and a motion was made at last year's AGM to authorize the board to fill the vacant positions which the Board did very successfully.

The Board successfully appointed 6 directors for the remaining vacant positions.  The 6 appointed directors by the Board are

1. Treasurer : one position
2. General Secretary: one position
3. Out reach Coordinator: one position
4. Facilities Coordinator: one position
5. Fund Raising Coordinator: one position
6. Member at Large: one position

As such, at present, we are assuming these positions could be vacant . The current nomination committee is working to determine if these six appointed directors are willing to continue on the board. If you are interested in serving on the board of directors for any of the above positions, please reach out to the chair of the nomination committee, Anu Kashyap at Kashyap_anu@hotmail.com or at 306-381-9350.

4. Mahaprasadam project: Our sincere thanks to Ragu & Sudha Koneru offering bhog to our beloved lord and served mahaprasadam to the congregation on 10th April 2022. Next Sunday, 17th April 2022 mahaprasadam is sponsored by Balaji and family. Follow the project details.

Starting from April 2nd until April 8th : There will be daily recital of 108 Ramayan Mank and Durga Mantra.

Saturday April 2nd: at 2 PM on Zoom Only

Sunday    April 3rd: at 2 PM on Zoom Only 

Monday  April 4th : at 2 PM Zoom and 6-7 PM in person at the Temple

24 hour Akhand Ramayan Path: Starts on April 9th 10:00AM Saturday and Katha Visarjan around 10:00AM on Ram Nawami Day of April 10th. Please choose a time and email us to hindusocietyofsaskatchewan@gmail.com. We need both readers and listeners, you are invite to join us help celebrate one of the most important event of the Temple. if sufficient devotees aren't available, we will also do in person and Zoom recital from Saturday midnight to 7 am on Sunday. If you want to read on Zoom during the the night time, please choose some time slots of your choice and let us know.
