Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple - Announcement
- Thank You to All! - 36th Annual Vegetarian Banquet: HSS board members would like to wholeheartedly thank all volunteers, donors, sponsors, corporate sponsors, attendees and members for your support and participation in this year's Annual Vegetarian Banquet. As you know, this event is one of the main ways that the temple raises funds for daily operations. This event was an absolute success, with many of you sharing your sentiments that the event went above and beyond your expectations. Revenues also increased, setting an all time record with almost 600 tickets sold, over 45 corporate tables sold, and huge interest in our newly introduced gold/silver/bronze sponsorship options. It was a great pleasure for all in attendance to appreciate together the beauty and wisdom inherent in diverse cultures, celebrate the selfless service acts performed by those in the community, and to connect and share a taste of Hinduism with the larger Saskatchewan community. Our sincere thanks to the HSS Advisory Board (Dr. S. Kanthan, Dr. K. Gowda & Dr. M. Khuranna) for providing their invaluable inputs and guidance to help make the banquet an amazing success. We believe that there is always room for improvement; please take a few minutes and direct any suggestions/feedback/concerns regarding the banquet to president@slntemple.ca. We greatly appreciate any input to help us make it an even better experience for all next year. We hope all of you fully enjoyed the banquet!
- Welcome Ganpati 2022: Ganpati is arriving on August 31st. As per devotees request, Sthapana puja will be conducted on Wednesday August 31st between 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. followed by Mahaprasadam sponsored by Neelam & Karan Singh family from Angeethi Flames and Taj Mahal restaurants. During Ganpati days will then conduct Ganeshji Aarti every day during Temple opening hours for 10 days (Mon - Fri 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m and 7:00pm to 8:00pm, Sundays 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 pm) followed by Ganesh Visarjan puja on September 9th. Puja will be conducted by Shri Jay Dave
- Ganesh Chaturthi, September 4th 2022: Ganesh Chaturthi day is on Monday August 31st 2022. On Sunday September 4th 2022, 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., our Maharashtrian Hindu Community
will celebrate Ganpati puja at the Temple with us followed by
Mahaprasadam. Please save this date and bring your friends and families!

- Mahaprasadam: Giving is gaining - Our sincere thanks to Pragnesh & Khusbu Patel and Volunteers for sponsoring and serving blessed Mahaprasadam to the congregation on Sunday August 28. Special thanks to devotee Pruthvi Lakadwala from Hakka Express for continuously providing delicious motichoor ladoos for prasad distribution. Next Sunday, September 04th, 2022 Mahaprasadam is sponsored by our Maharashtrian Hindu Community on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. If you would like to sponsor Mahaprasadam on Sundays to celebrate your special occasion with the congregation after prayers for 130 devotees and/or donate groceries from the Temple list provided, please click here for project details.
- Monday Rudrabishekam is conducted by Balaji every Monday except the first Monday of the month. Everyone is invited to participate. Normally we have one sponsor every Monday and sponsorship is $51 to do Shiv puja by the Alter. - Darshan Fund: A fundraiser for temple accessibility and to hire a priest/purohit. All devotees who sign up will get access to the Temple for darshan on their own time with a proximity card just like going to the gym on your own time. In addition to all the benefits, for $20/month, you will be actively promoting Hinduism in Saskatoon! details
- Daily Arati Project Sign up: Daily Arati is customary for Hindus when prayers are done at home and temple. The temple is now open everyday (Mon - Fri 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m and 7:00pm to 8:00pm, Sundays 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 pm). The board has started a daily Arati project and is a very special and unique opportunity for the community at large to participate. Devotees who are interested to do Arati at Temple during the week to please contact the board and we will add you to "Temple Arati Project" What's App group for instant sign up on a particular day. Please provide your name and phone number to be added in the group.
