1.  Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal 2022 (SK) to HSS: Saskatchewan Lieutenant Governor, His Honour the Honourable Russ Mirasty has selected the Hindu Society of Saskatchewan to receive this special honour for our contribution to social wellbeing in Saskatchewan. President Vishal Jheengut will receive the medal on Nov 17th 2022 on behalf of HSS. Congratulations to our HSS board and the community.

2.   Yogathon, Wellness Seminar, Hindu Heritage Month & Potluck Day - Saturday, November 26 2022 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in Temple: HSS is organizing a Yogathon Day followed by Wellness seminar by Dr K Gowda. There will be a potluck lunch as well. What a great opportunity to showcase your favourite vegetarian recipe to your HSS family. Program – November 26^th 2022 at Temple

3.   Soft Garage and Food Sale December 17th/18th in Geeta Bhawan: If you have unused or lightly used items that can be carried and transported easily in a car and you would like to donate to HSS to sell at the garage sale, committee members are Anu Kashyap, Neeru Kavia & Pari Padmanab - please contact Pariji 306-380 7586 for drop off details. Items have to be fairly new, usable and in working conditions. Please join us to make the garage sale on both days a successful fundraising event for the Temple. Food sale will be only on Saturday December 17th 2022. 

4.    Mahaprasadam: Giving is gaining - Our sincere thanks to Drs. Anita & Otto Moodley for serving blessed Mahaprasadam to the entire congregation on November 6th. Special thanks to devotee Pruthvi Lakadwala from Hakka Express for continuously providing delicious motichoor ladoos for prasad distribution every Sunday. Next Sunday, Nov 13th 2022, Mahaprasadam will be sponsored by devotees Renuka/Ravi Jangid family. If you would like to sponsor Mahaprasadam on Sundays to celebrate your special occasion with the congregation after prayers for 130 devotees and/or donate groceries from the Temple list provided, please click here for project details.

5.  Darshan Fund: A fundraiser for temple accessibility and to hire a priest/purohit. 1. Special Children Yoga - November 12th 2022 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Please enroll your child for kids Yoga on November 12th at Temple. See poster below for registration details and forms attached below.

Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple - Announcement

1. Lakshmi Puja: Lakshmi puja will be celebrated on Sunday October 30th 2022 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Puja will be conducted by Dr Suresh Kalagnanam. Sponsorship is $51/family that helps the society organize Lakshmi puja and all devotees who sponsored will receive a gift and a Temple Calendar. Donations can be made by e-transfer at donate@slntemple.ca or donate online at  https://SLNTemple.ca Please indicate "Lakshmi Puja 2022" when sponsoring/donating. Puja will start sharply at 10:30 a.m. Geeta Bhawan will also be opened with the screen broadcasting the live Lakshmi puja to accommodate everyone attending in case the Temple side is full.
2. Reflection on Hinduism:  On Thursday, October 27th 2022 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. by Dr Nawal Sharma. Topic "Significance of Durga puja - Unfolding the Divine Feminine Power Within You". Please come and support this HSS traditional lecture series. 3. Sad News: The Hindu Society of Saskatchewan learned with great sadness the sudden passing away of Shri Prasannan Sambal on Oct 25th in the morning at the age of 69. On behalf of the society, our condolences go to the Sambal family and we pray for them during this difficult time. 1.   Diwali, Lakshmi Puja & Rangoli Competition 2022: Lakshmi puja will be celebrated on Sunday October 30th 2022 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Puja will be conducted by Dr Suresh Kalagnanam. Sponsorship is $51/family that helps the society organize Lakshmi puja and all devotees who sponsored will receive a gift and a Temple Calendar. Donations can be made by e-transfer at donate@slntemple.ca or donate online at  https://SLNTemple.ca Please indicate "Lakshmi Puja 2022" when sponsoring/donating. Diwali Day is on Monday, October 24th 2022, and the Temple will be open from  4:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m for kirtan, light prasadam and his Worship Mayor Charlie Clark will celebrate Diwali with us between 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Please bring lots of sweets to share with devotees on Diwali day. Rangoli competition is from Sunday October 23rd in front of the Main Temple entrance and has to be completed by Oct 24th 4:00 p.m. for the judges to select the winner who in turn will receive a sponsored $50 gift as prize from the Temple.

Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple - Announcement

1. Mata Ki Chauki is on Oct 7th between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. by our famous singer Shri Bharat Sharma. It’s a must participate event and free to everyone. If you are interested, optional sponsorship of $31 is available. We are looking for some sponsors to help with the cost of some items to organize the event. Any help to Temple will be appreciated! 2. Karwa Chauth puja on Oct 12th will be at 4:00 p.m. and then again at 5:00 p.m. (Oct 11 is Mehndi Night at 7:00 pm). Please contact Meenu Sharma raimeenu7@gmail.com for details.

1. Reflection of Hinduism talk: When: on Thursday September 29th at 7:00 PM by Shri Kumar Balachandran Topic: "Gita Vishvaroopa Darshan".  Venue: Online Zoom meeting. Please attend with your families and support this important Hinduism lecture! Thank you Kumarji!!.
2. Durga Puja Celebration on Saturday, October 1st 2022, starting 10:00 AM at Temple: On behalf of the Saskatoon Durga Puja Celebration Committee (SDPCC) and HSS, Durga Puja will be celebrated at Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple. 
3. Program Details: 10:00 am: Puja * 11:30 am: Pushpanjali * 12:00 noon - Bhog, Arati, and songs * 12:30 pm - Packed lunch Prasad distribution *7:00 pm - Arati and Prayer *7:30 pm - Cultural program * 9:00 pm - Packed light refreshments

Next Sunday, September 25th , 2022 Mahaprasadam will be sponsored by Krishna Khandel & family. 8. Rudrabishekam (Every Monday): Abishekam is conducted by Balaji every Monday except the first Monday of the month. Everyone is invited to participate. Normally we have one sponsor every Monday and sponsorship is $51 to do puja by the altar. 10. Daily Arati Project Sign up: Daily Arati is customary for Hindus when prayers are done at home and temple. The temple is now open everyday (Mon - Fri 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sundays 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.). The board has started a daily Arati project and is a very special and unique opportunity for the community at large to participate. Devotees who are interested to do Arati at Temple during the week to please contact the board and we will add you to "Temple Arati Project" What's App group for instant sign up on a particular day. Please provide your name and phone number to be added to the group.
